Gourmet Magazine visits The Blue Point

In its April issue, Gourmet magazine calls The Blue Point the "toughest reservation in Duck". That's because, as the article notes, it has a "savvy menu" and "exudes a jaunty dockside charm." Plan to visit when you're on the Outer Banks. And end your meal with a cup of Lexington Coffee. (Then go across the parking lot to Duck's Cottage and have another!) You won't want to leave.

LCRC is Roasters Choice Finalist Again

May 6, 2008

Lexington Coffee Roasting Co. is now the only roaster in the country to place among the top 10 finalists of the annual Roasters Guild of America Roasters' Choice Tasting Competition for 3 years in a row.  Our Rwanda Bufcafe placed 7th overall in the 2008 event, held May 2 - 5 at the Specialty Coffee Association of America annual conference in Minneapolis.  Our Ikubyu Blend placed 5th in 2007, and our Organic Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Oromia and Guatemala La Tacita took 4th and 5th, respectively, in the 2006 competition.

Celebrating the art of roasting specialty coffee, Roasters' Choice features exceptional coffees from some of the finest coffee roasters in the country.  Each year the approximately 370 members of the Roasters Guild of America are invited to submit their best coffees.  Ten finalists are chosen in a blind tasting by a panel of industry professionals.  SCAA conference attendees then vote for their favorite in a second blind tasting.  The theme of this year's Roasters' Choice Tasting Competition was "Single Origin Coffees".
