  • Nestled in the middle of the majestic Colombian Massif, a group of Andean mountains home to the headwaters of most of Colombia's rivers, the remote municipality of Inza is filled with very small family farms. Most of these farmers have grown their coffee organically for generations but could not afford modern day certification. In recent years, the Pillimue Family, pillars of coffee production in Cauca, have helped 80 of their neighboring farms become certified organic producers. This group now leads workshops to help other farmers in the community learn to turn coffee processing waste into inexpensive organic fertilizer.
