  • When we need a creamy-bodied cup full of chocolate and raisin, beans from the Oaxacan State Coffee Producers Network (CEPCO) are at the top of our list. In 1989, the Mexican government stopped funding its coffee industry, sparking a severe financial crisis for small family farms. In response, the Oaxacan State Coffee Producers Network (CEPCO) was formed to help the thousands of small family farms scattered throughout Oaxaca. While each producer controls their own small farm, the CEPCO alliance helps farmers gain access to credit and certifications as well as aid in leaf rust recovery. The effort has resulted in higher prices and thus more income for small coffee producers.
